DeKalb County Clinics & Information Sessions

Tenants’ Rights Clinic
Where? DeKalb County Library, Decatur branch: 215 Sycamore St, Decatur, GA 30030
When? The 3rd Tuesday of each month, from 5:30-7:30

Other notes: there is a general presentation at the beginning, and attorneys will then consult with any interested attendees one on one.
Home Defense Info Session
Where? On the Rise Financial Center – 810 Joseph E. Boone Blvd, NW, Atlanta, GA 30314

Other notes: This all-day class for first-time home buyers is coordinated and sponsored by First Choice Credit Union. Class schedule: 9:00am to 5:00pm, typically the first Saturday of the month. Atlanta Legal Aid attorneys teach part of the all-day class, specifically on home purchase scams to avoid, predatory mortgage lending, and foreclosure law. Co-teachers cover budgeting, mortgage loans, the role of real estate agents, home inspections, homeowner’s insurance, and fair housing laws. Attendees must register ahead of time by visiting https://www.1stchoicecu.org/pages/homeownership-counseling.php#. There is a $40 registration fee (includes snacks, lunch, and materials). Building is handicap-accessible. Parking is available in front of the building. 

Cobb County Clinics & Information Sessions

Probate Clinic
Where & When? The 2nd Wednesday of the month at the juvenile courthouse; the 4th Friday of the month at the Cobb Legal Aid office. Both are from 9:30 to 11:30.
