The Atlanta Legal Aid Society, Inc. seeks a Part-time Contract Attorney to provide family law consultations onsite at the Justice Resource Center in the Fulton County Courthouse. The attorney will provide brief advice to unrepresented litigants and assistance with pro se forms, but no ongoing representation. The advice areas include a range of domestic relations issues including divorce, separate maintenance, legitimation, custody, visitation, child support, alimony, contempt, family violence protective orders, name change, birth certificate amendment, domestication, and temporary minor guardianship. Most consultations will be by telephone, but some in person consultations will occur using current health protocols including masking and social distancing, etc.
Qualifications: Qualified candidates must be a member of the Georgia Bar with at least three years of experience in family law.
Terms: This position is part-time (approximately 11 hours per week), pays $29.75+ an hour depending on experience, and offers no benefits.
