The Atlanta Legal Aid Society, Inc. seeks a full-time Receptionist/Senior Hotline Intake Receptionist to work in its Downtown Atlanta Office. The office is the main branch of Atlanta Legal Aid. Our non-profit represents low-income persons in a wide variety of civil law problems, including domestic relations, housing, consumer, public benefits, education and health law issues. This is a 37.5 hours per week position requiring a daily schedule Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Receptionist/Senior Hotline Intake Receptionist provides backup support to our primary receptionist referring callers to appropriate ALAS offices/units and other agencies and resources, and gathers information, opens and assigns intakes for the Georgia Senior Legal Hotline. The Hotline provides advice, brief services and referrals to senior callers from all over the state. The call volume is very heavy, and callers are often very worried or upset about their situations. Accordingly, the Receptionist/Senior Hotline Intake Receptionist must have patience, compassion, strong nerves, lively intelligence and good problem–solving skills.
Skills and experiences required:
- 1 year of office experience
- Experience working with the public
- Fluency in English
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Word
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to operate a multi line telephone
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
Terms: The salary for this position will start at $31,500+ depending on experience.
