Atlanta Legal Aid Society seeks a Development and Communications Associate to work at its headquarters in downtown Atlanta. Our non-profit law firm represents low-income people in a variety of civil legal matters including family, housing, consumer, public benefits, education and health law.
Responsibilities: The Development and Communications Associate has primary responsibility for database management, website development and management, social media content creation and management, newsletter production and publication, fundraising event coordination, and provides grant reporting support.
Qualifications: An undergraduate degree and 1 years of experience in communications, marketing or nonprofit management; experience with data collection and review; experience with website content development and management; and experience with social media content creation and management are required. Applicants must possess excellent communication and listening skills; strong writing and editing skills; strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects; meticulous attention to detail; a willingness to learn; the ability to work in a team and alone; adaptability; and an appreciation of diversity. Prior work experience in a non-profit organization and a demonstrated interest in social justice are highly valued.
Salary and Benefits: The salary is $42,400+ depending on experience. Salaries increase annually based on a salary scale. The program provides generous fringe benefits including 13 paid holidays, 6 weeks paid time off, 6 weeks parental leave; health, life, and long and short-term disability insurance; partial payment for dependent health insurance; a salary reduction option for a flexible spending account; educational loan reimbursement up to $600 per month (after a $65 per month deductible and set off of other loan reimbursement amounts); and a voluntary tax-sheltered annuity with 3% match. Legal Aid offers a hybrid work schedule that allows staff to work 2 days remotely subject to management approval and a probationary employment period.
