Atlanta Legal Aid Society provides free civil legal help to individuals who cannot afford a private attorney.
To qualify for our services, you must meet certain low-income guidelines. Eligibility exceptions may apply to seniors and certain other qualified applicants. We primarily serve the five county metro Atlanta area – Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Fulton, and Gwinnett. Some limited services are available statewide and are noted below where applicable. IN PERSON APPLICATION
If you need to apply for legal help in person, visit the office in your county Monday through Friday during our open hours (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM). Walk-in service is very limited; you may not see a lawyer right away. We will quickly help people with emergencies, but if your problem is not urgent, we will call you back.
